My first post of 2020 is a look back at 2019. This will be my first time participating in the Sewing Top 5 that is being hosted on the Sewcialists blog this year. Gillian started the challenge in 2012 on her blog Crafting A Rainbow and I have enjoyed reading participant posts over the the last couple years. I will not be replying to all of the prompts, but I picked two to start with this year.

Shirt, Butterick 5526 I have made this pattern a few times now, but this is the only version of View D with princess seams that I have made so far. I am very pleased with the fit though so I do plan to make this version again.
Bra-Making Class A road trip with mom, seeing Niagara Falls, first visit to Canada, and a bra-making class made for a wonderful week this summer. The class was fantastic and I made my first two well-fitting bras. The third one is close to being finished.
Lander Pant One of my sewing goals this year was to find a TNT pants pattern. I had made the Lander Pant as shorts, but this was my first set of trousers. The fit is not perfect on this pair and I did have to go back and mend the seat seam after wearing them for a couple months, but it was a confidence builder to finish my first pair of pants.
Tamarack Jacket This was my third version of the pattern and I made a few more changes, but I think this is my favorite version. The only improvement I have for the next one is to add the pockets back in.
Style Arc Marie Jacket Second time making this pattern, and both the pattern and the fabric were winners this time around.

Bat Shirt This shirt was worn twice and then shrunk beyond wearability. It also stretched out in the neckline and drooped. I'll have to find different fabric to make a new Halloween shirt for next year.
Sasha Trousers from Closet Case Patterns I picked up this pattern when we were in Canada and was inspired to get it to fit after finishing my Lander Pants. I made three different muslins, but still don't have the fit correct and never did a blog post about the process. Some day I will go back and work on the fitting, but for now the muslins are sitting in time out.
Fortunately, there were only two projects that were notably unsuccessful last year.
As of today, I have already finished my first two projects for this year and have a quilt top underway. I'm looking forward to what 2020 will bring.
